How often are we truly present in our lives? It’s hard, isn’t it? We have so many things to do, places to be, people to see. We all know that we should slow down and enjoy life more. We may try for a little while, but then we’re off to the races again, filling our lives with more busyness and distractions. We start our day with well-meaning intentions: kindness, compassion, patience, and love. Then stuff happens—we hit traffic, computer goes on the fritz, or have an argument with our significant other. By mid-day, we often find ourselves worn down, defensive, and depleted. We at Savour know what this feels like and would like to remind you to slow down and Savour the moments you are in, be present with your loved ones. With all the distractions around us, it’s easy to get sidetracked. We are all tempted to “multi-task” by checking email or sending text messages while talking to them. But it’s so important to let your loved ones know that they’re being heard and that you value your relationship with them. Be present with people you encounter, whether it’s a clerk at a grocery store, your neighbor, or a co-worker. Studies have shown said that mostly everyone has the same desire—to know they are seen, they are heard, and that what they say matters. So remember to slow down be in the moment and maybe we can all enjoy a glass of wine together one day because it wouldn’t be Savour without u. -JR
